Similar Photo Cleaner is intended to help you organize your photographs and free storage space on your computer. It has a beautiful interface, which is quite self-explicable. In addition, the program comes with a nice tutorial that leaves no questions unanswered.
You may start by dragging and dropping the desired folders or individual photographs onto the program’s window. At this point, you will notice a series of knobs that let you modify your search preferences. In this regard, there are two search modes: Exact and Similar. In case you choose to look for similar photographs: it is possible to specify levels of similarity in terms of bitmap size, time interval, GPS location, image size and dimensions.
After doing this, you can proceed to scan the selected folders, which the tool can do quite fast. When the results are ready, you can either let the program use smart selection to delete duplicates or decide to do that manually. Luckily, the tool can do this quite accurately and efficiently, although not so much as other similar software. There is a trial version that removes up to 15 duplicate photographs.
So far so good; however, it is a real shame that the product has been notified as using the “bundling” method to install unwanted software on your PC. Even if its current distribution does not make any unauthorized changes on your computer, previous misbehavior certainly raises a flag.
